A study corner needs more than a flat surface, and this kids desk and chair set brings the bookshelf with it. An upper shelf holds textbooks, folders and reference material upright above the 31.5 in by 23.62 in desktop, so the writing area stays open even when several subjects are in progress. Both pieces adjust. The desktop rises from 21.26 in to 28.74 in and the chair from 28.74 in to 32.48 in, keeping posture correct as a child grows, and the top tilts anywhere between 0 and 40 degrees for writing, reading or sketching. A wide drawer runs under the surface for pens, notebooks and art supplies, and steel side hooks take a backpack or a water bottle off the floor.Engineered wood panels are framed in steel for a set rated at 220 lbs, sturdy enough to lean on through long assignments. The chair back is contoured to follow the spine and encourage an upright seat, and rounded edges with a wipe-clean finish make daily use straightforward. At 53.39 lbs assembled, the set stays firmly in place in a bedroom, a study or a shared homework space.
