Eighteen inches of clearance turns the space under a bed into genuine storage rather than the shallow gap that only takes flat boxes. Deep containers stand upright, suitcases slide in without being angled, and stacked bins fit two high, which across a full-size footprint adds up to a volume comparable to a wardrobe. The frame measures 75.2 in long by 53.9 in wide in steel, sized for a full mattress. Steel is what makes the height workable, because a taller frame puts more leverage on every joint and a timber slat base at this height would flex noticeably. No box spring is needed the frame sets the mattress at a comfortable level by itself, and adding a base would put it uncomfortably high. Static load capacity is 1100 lb, far beyond a full mattress and two sleepers, and the distance from that limit is what keeps the frame silent rather than creaking. The assembled frame weighs 28.7 lb, light enough for one person to carry and build without help..
