The point of a beach shelter is to make a long day possible, and that comes down to three things: shade, air and staying put. This one covers all three. The canopy is rated Upf 50 or above, so the people sitting underneath are genuinely protected rather than just out of direct sun, and vents built into the design keep air moving through instead of trapping heat under the fabric the way a solid shelter does. Stability comes from sand pockets along the base, which fill in seconds once you have arrived and hold the whole structure down when the wind picks up in the afternoon. At 112.2 in x 68.9 in x 72.4 in it covers six people, so it works for a family or a group rather than just a couple, and there is headroom to sit up comfortably. Portability is what decides whether it actually gets brought along: it packs into an 18.1 in x 6.3 in x 6.7 in carrying bag at 8.5 lbs, which is a single-hand carry from the car park with the chairs in your other hand. Setup is quick enough to manage alone. Beyond the beach, the same shelter works for camping, a picnic in a park or a day watching sport outdoors.
