A kitchen island only earns its floor space if it stores as much as it serves. This one runs 42.5 in long and 18 in deep at counter height, giving you a full prep surface, and packs two cabinets and four drawers into the frame below. The cabinets have inner shelves measuring 15 in x 11 in x 10 in, deep enough for pans, mixing bowls and small appliances, while each drawer gives 13 in x 8 in x 5 in on smooth slides for utensils, tea towels and the packets that never fit anywhere. Mobility is what separates an island from a sideboard. Five universal casters let it roll to the sink for prep and to the table for serving, and two of them lock so the cart stays put while you are chopping or kneading on it. On the outside, a spice rack keeps jars upright and readable rather than buried at the back of a cupboard, and a rustproof aluminium towel rack holds a cloth within reach. The solid engineered wood construction supports up to 300 lbs, and the wood-look surface wipes clean after a messy prep session while adding some warmth to a kitchen of flat white units. It ships in one box with an instruction sheet, and assembly is required.
