Five tiers across 39.4 in of width is a lot of shoes, which is the point in a household where four people come through the same door. Most shoe racks are sized for one person's collection and then overflow within a month, and the overflow is what ends up on the floor beside the rack looking worse than no rack at all.The mesh shelves are rated to 11 lb each and the top shelf to 22 lb, with the top being the surface that matters in daily use. It is where keys, post, and a bag land on the way in, and having somewhere at waist height for those things is what stops them being put down on the stairs.Mesh rather than solid board is deliberate. Wet soles dry from below rather than sitting in a puddle, grit drops through instead of collecting, and cleaning is a wipe rather than an unload. The rack measures 11.8 in deep and stands 36.4 in tall, shallow enough to line a hallway without narrowing it. Particleboard on a steel frame keeps the assembled weight to 23.4 lb, so it lifts aside easily when the floor underneath needs attention.
