A 30 in bench is the size that actually fits most of the places people want a bench. At the end of a hallway, beside a front door, or at the foot of a twin bed, a full-length version overshoots and ends up angled awkwardly into the room. This one measures 30 in wide by 15 in deep and 15 in tall, which lands squarely in those gaps.Inside there is 22.4 Gal of enclosed storage, taking blankets, scarves, or the shoes and bags that collect near an entrance. The top is padded with foam under a linen-look fabric, which gives it the appearance of upholstered furniture rather than a plastic box, and that matters for a piece that sits in plain view in a hallway or bedroom rather than tucked into a closet. The bench folds flat when empty, so it can be put away in seasons when it is not needed. Static load capacity is rated to 660 lb, meaning adults can sit on it as a matter of course, and the Mdf frame keeps the assembled weight to 12.3 lb, the lightest in this size range and easy to move with one hand. It is the kind of piece that quietly takes over three jobs at once and never looks like it is trying to.
