A canvas bell tent is a different proposition from a nylon dome. It is heavier, it lasts longer, and it is comfortable in a way a synthetic tent never quite manages, because canvas breathes. Condensation does not run down the inside walls overnight, the air stays fresh rather than clammy, and the fabric moderates temperature through both a hot afternoon and a cold night. This one covers 4 m, or 13.12 ft, across with a centre height of 98.43 in, so adults stand upright and up to six people sleep inside. The stove jack is what makes it a four-season tent. A chimney vent lets the flue of a wood stove pass safely through the canvas, so the interior can be genuinely warm in winter rather than merely sheltered, and that single feature is why bell tents get used year round. Ventilation for the warmer months comes from eight windows, four in the roof and four in the walls, keeping air moving through the whole space. A Pvc groundsheet seals the floor against damp and insects. At 50.04 lbs it is not a backpacking tent, but for a pitch you drive to, a glamping setup, a hunting base or a party in a field, that weight is what buys the space and the durability.
