James Verity was born in Brooklyn in 1925. Raised in a large Irish Catholic family, Jim was introduced to religion at an early age. This introduction quickly grew into a strong and personal relationship with both God and the Church. At a very early age, Jim knew he wanted to be a Passionist Priest. At only fourteen, he left home, traveled over 400 miles to Dunkirk, New York, and began to prepare for the priesthood. This memoir tells Jim
