I am admitting upfront that I was a Realtor for 30 years in Washington State and in Phoenix, Arizona, which will give this Fictional Story a ring of truth. I met wonderfully strange people and participated in unusual and fun Real Estate transactions, enough to fill 10 books. At the time I entered the Real Estate profession, there were very few women, and the guys in my first office assumed I would naturally love to cook the salmon waiting in the kitchen for their lunch! It didn't happen! If you recognize characters that sound or look a little like someone you know, you might be right, the names are changed to protect the guilty! Don't fret most of the characters are made up out of whole cloth, the sexy boyfriend was just for fun. My husband Shirl of 58 years wouldn't hear of it! Our murder mystery opens as Maye's new agent, Sarah McClanahan, showing her first listing finds it decorated with the owner's bloody bodies with crossbow bolts sticking out of their chests. Maye's sexy boyfriend, Sheriff's Deputy, Frank Singleton, has his hands full investigating this crime, and several carjackings and murders appear to be piling up. Meanwhile, Maye sells the deal of a lifetime! Four large lakefront properties surrounding beautiful Lake Haverly in Punkin Center, Arizona. I know you can't wait to follow my directions to Lake Haverly, go ahead, it's a beautiful drive, and you will wind up at Roosevelt Lake. Lake Haverly exists only in my mind. The new owners of Lake Haverly are New York City Attorney, Miranda Feldman, and her writer husband, Joshua. They are thrilled to finally own their private Shangri-la! Everything is coming up roses until a badly decomposed body is discovered in their beautiful lake, by the attorney's writer husband, and his fishing buddy, when his lure becomes hooked on what they think is a log. Things get complicated; when coroner George Green identifies the body to be that of James Crandall, Maye's toughest seller, and resident hothead! The Coroner finally using DNA obtained from military service records identifies the body as James Crandall. He's the seller of the house across the lake from the Feldman's new home. A tasteful memorial is planned and attended by many neighbors until James Crandall shows up at the party, screaming! "Who the hell are you people and what the hell are you doing on my property?" Authors live and die by reviews.
