The popular---at times controversial---`All in the Family' spin-off headlined by the anti-Archie Bunker: the indomitable, outspoken and passionately liberal Maude Findlay. Politics, of course, was a heated topic in many episodes. But the most memorable ones addressed such social issues as alcoholism, mental illness and abortion with intelligence and compassion.
