Rose siempre había soñado con abrir una cafetería en el edificio propiedad de su tío. Pero cuando éste fallece, su testamento no deja lugar a dudas: el edificio pasará a pertenecer al marido de Rose, no a ella. Sin embargo, hay un pequeño detalle con el que su tío quizás no contaba: Rose está soltera. Y su prometido acaba de abandonarla. Es entonces cuando, Jack, el abogado de su tío (a quien acaba de conocer), le propone una solución inesperada: casarse con ella. De este modo, Rose podrá abrir la cafetería con la que tanto ha soñado y Jack heredará el edificio. Quizás el suyo solo sea un matrimonio de conveniencia, pero desde luego no resulta nada sencillo. Rose has always dreamed of opening a coffee shop in the building owned by her uncle. But when her uncle dies, his will leaves no room for doubt: the building will belong to Rose's husband, not her.
