MALDIVES, A Novel

This novel is inspired by the history of the ancient archipelagic sultanate of MALDIVES in the Indian Ocean. It is a work of fiction and any resemblance of the characters in the book to living or dead people is entirely coincidental. The novel takes you from the formation of the islands, later to be called Maldives, through major events that helped to shape the nation, to the disappearance of the country due to climate change and sea-level rise, after the last remaining inhabitants were relocated as environmental refugees. Apart from the moving story, the reader will find the description the of the history, culture and the traditions of the country quite interesting.
