Make a Wish: 20 short stories

These tales deal with people living their lives under very different but real circumstances-at times humorous, at other times full of irony, pathos and tragedy. We each live our own collection of stories, I think, which is why counselors exist-to help us make sense of what we've experienced in the past and discover new ways to live that move us in new, more productive and satisfying directions. There are elements that figure prominently in the telling of each story--an oil portrait, a new car, worn-out equipment, a carnival game, historical exhibit, a lizard costume, wrecked cars, musical instruments. Then add people-angry, hurting, loving, forgiving, dreaming, camping, wishing, hoping, learning, imagining-mix in COVID-19, advances in technology, racism, global warming. plus any number of 'boy meets girl' encounters and you'll get stories that are compelling and true-to-life, with a bit of alchemy thrown in for good measure.
