Maggy

A young person with a deep love for the natural world, but no affinity for humans, decides to run away and try to survive alone in a forbidden wilderness. She leaves behind nothing of value and carries with her only knowledge and determination, a few possessions, and the ability to communicate with wild creatures. With the help of an old grizzly bear, she arrives in a wild paradise where she's accepted by a Black Snake, a Mallard Duck, a Wolf Spider, a Fox, a Mink, two Ravens, and a world of other creatures. When 100 men come to kill the animals and take over the land, she discovers an unexpected helper, and together they try to outwit the invaders.
