Loving Caroline

Caroline O'Reilly, a young nurse, is determined to enlist in the Army Nurse Corps, and volunteer for a one-year tour in Vietnam. However, she finds herself in a dilemma when she heads to Ocean Shores, Washington, for a summer of reflection and relaxation. It is there that she meets, Frankie, a good-looking fireman. Their budding attraction adds emotional conflict to Caroline's future plans. Unprepared for a love interest, Caroline keeps her heart in check by denying her true feelings. When she reports for military duty, she experiences the horrors and hardships of combat nursing in Vietnam, as well as building close friendships. At the end of her tour, she wonders if Frankie will meet her in Hawaii for R&R. Or, has a year apart been the nail in the coffin of their love relationship?
