Love Me, Save Me: Rescued Saddlebreds & Other Horses

This book was written to share stories, poems and pictures of actual rescued American Saddlebreds and a few other breeds of horses and ponies. All the horses you will read about were slaughter-bound and days from getting shipped to Mexico or Canada where horse slaughtering is legal. Along with sharing the stories, poems and pictures of all my own nine personal rescue horses, you will read many poems and see beautiful colorful photos of fourteen other rescue- and slaughter-bound horses, some with happy endings, some with sad endings. Horse slaughter is heartbreaking and horrible but it's real and it happens every day. Some horses are lucky and get saved, many aren't so lucky. Proceeds from the sale of this book will go to Blue Haven Acres, a non-profit American Saddlebred horse rescue organization recognized by the state of Maine.
