In 1957 Brooklyn, Chico, Stanley, Butchey and Wimpy (Perry King, Sylvester Stallone, Henry Winkler, and Paul Mace) are "The Lords of Flatbush". So says their jackets say so, and so say their girlfriends, Annie and Frannie (Renee Paris and Maria Smith). But when Jane Bradshaw (Susie Blakely), the new girl in their senior class, isn't so sure, Chico talks her into going on a date in order to convince her otherwise. Walking the same turf, going to the same school and waiting for graduation day while playing ball or shooting pool, "The Lords of Flatbush" remain close friends, and even steal a car to help Chico's date with Jane. When Frannie tells Stanley they have to get married "because...," he has no choice but to use the money he had been saving for a car to pay for the ring and the wedding. When Jane walks out on Chico in favor of a football player, an ensuing "rumble" leaves Butchey with a broken leg. But, staying together, "The Lords of Flatbush" are all present at Stanley's wedding, proud to be friends of the groom and of each other.
