An enigmatic young man in a London boarding house becomes the subject of suspicion as the infamous Jack the Ripper begins his campaign of slaughter. This remake of the 1926 Alfred Hitchcock silent again features Ivor Novello (also the scriptwriter) in the lead and a far more downbeat ending.
