Locomotive of Mangled Parts

is a multi-level exploration of and through the craft of poetry. It begins by reflecting on the nature of that human exercise of futility and triumph called language, the mystery of poetry itself, and the symbiosis between poet and reader that closes the circuit that poetry requires for its electricity to flow. This lays down tracks that moves down on a wider journey to many physical, spiritual and emotional destinations: ghost cities, endangered aspen forests, the Covid pandemic, religious faith and doubt, the blights of war and of racism, aging, caring for a dying parent, love and daily living.
