God is Creator (Gen. 1:1), Father (Matt. 6:9), and God of the Whole Earth (Isa. 54:5). He is Eternal (Deut. 33:27), Almighty (Gen. 17:1), and King of Kings (Rev. 19:16). God speaks to reveal Himself, indicate His will and purpose, and lead and guide man in the way of righteousness. God speaks through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and through His Holy Spirit (Heb.1:2). God communicates through apostles, preachers, evangelists and other believers. God connects with humans through His written word, the Old and New Testament. God conveys His will and purpose through visions and dreams, divine revelation, and man's conscience. God speaks through nature, and in life's circumstances and events. God is purposeful when He speaks, regardless of the avenue He uses. God glorifies Himself and displays His presence and power. God is interested in fulfilling His will in believers' lives, and shaping them into the image of Christ. God always accomplishes good in the lives of the faithful. He is always in control of all circumstances, and achieves their ultimate good, either now or in eternity. Solidarity with Christ is required to hear from God (John 15.4). Believers must have a submissive will and expect to hear from God. They must exhibit spiritual discernment and patience in waiting on God's timing and direction. The faithful should be prayerful and worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24).
