Loneliness in a child can be one of the hardest things to endure and even harder for their parents to watch.LilyStarr, the main character in LilyStarr...No Ordinary Wish, is such a child. An army brat who has never been able to put down roots is a brilliant but lonely, shy girl born with a special gift.  However, those gifts are not enough to bring her what she wishes for the most, friendship. She feels that if she can become the world's greatest inventor, people will have no choice but to like her and make her and so many others' wishes come true. She receives a special gift, which, unbeknownst to her, will have a huge impact on her life. Lily is unaware of the power her gift holds, and it takes a while before she realizes its

When her family moves and Lily can finally have a real home, Lily's outlook starts to change, and she sees opportunities to develop friendships.
