Life during the Great Depression as seen through the eyes of a little girl. Her father Charlie was a gambler and a drinker but he kept his family together through hard times. Together they drove across the mountains of West Virginia in a beat-up Model T, sleeping by the road as wild animals prowled and howled in the woods.
