is fresh out of design school and working toward her dream of launching her own clothing line. Unfortunately, her dreams cost money, so Isla takes a job working nights as a bartender in downtown Victoria, which should free up her days to build her portfolio and leave no time for an actual life ... let alone a relationship. Or so she thinks. All of that changes her first night working when a handsome man she's never met before steps behind the bar and hands his one-year-old child to her so he can deal with an emergency in the kitchen. That man turns out to be Liam Wilde-the owner of the restaurant-and she quickly learns he's in the midst of a messy custody battle and seems to be in need of a friend. A role she's all-too happy to fill after getting to know him. life is going according to plan ... well, almost. His restaurant is open and business is great, his daughter, Ella, is happy and thriving, but his relationship with his ex-wife is less-than ideal. She resists his pleas for peaceful co-parenting and threatens his relationship with his daughter when he doesn't comply with her demands. This wasn't exactly the life he'd envisioned for himself, and he tells himself he's content to remain single to save himself from more heartbreak. What he doesn't expect is how quickly he falls head-over-heels for the beautiful brunette his daughter formed an immediate bond with, and it doesn't take long before they finally give in to the growing desire between them.
