Tras pasar unos años fuera, Julia vuelve a México. Se instala en casa de su madre, Catalina, persiguiendo las huellas de su pasado como una forma de reencuentro consigo misma. En su regreso conocerá a Silvia, una joven embarazada que vive en una casa de acogida esperando el momento de dar a luz y entregar a su hijo a otros padres.
