At the age of 34, Maria Callas is at the height of her career as an opera singer, but her performances have begun to take a toll on her. Her voice begins to fail and she must take breaks, but no one is willing to let her rest. She arrives at her friend Elsa Maxwell's house completely exhausted. There she meets Aristotle Onassis. In spite of their differences, thus begins a passionate, volatile relationship.
