KoTo in Bloomington, MN

KoTo is a young grey parrot who is born in sunny Africa. He lives happily with his large and loving family and is curious to discover the beautiful world around him. Unfortunately, one day, KoTo is plucked from home and taken far away. He suffers alone for a long time without anyone to turn to. However, he fights bravely and meets a new friend who helps him through the difficult times. This book aims to gently combine non-fiction with fiction, and is based on the true story of one parrot the author personally knew. It is both a fictional story about the importance of family, curiosity, bravery and helping friends in need, while at the same time acquainting the young readers with the African Grey Timneh Parrots, their way of life and how human love for them endangered their species.
