Her struggle to achieve her goal of gaining popularity and recognition as her father's daughter becomes less and less important as she sees that her world is corrupt with a prejudice and that the rest of the townspeople are just too blindsided to see that they are only keeping themselves locked in an illusion, possessed by their obsession with water. Total destruction of her world and the probable death of her mother during a tsunami lead Amaya, along with Takeshi and her dog Mizuki, across the sea to Komori to possibly find the home, and freedom, they've been dreaming of.
