What if technology provided the means to meet our Savior face to face? What would that teach us about Him? What would it teach us about ourselves? Joshua of God by William Boffi is a compelling novel which explores the what ifs of this scenario in-depth. In the year 2028, scientists use technology to clone a human being using blood harvested from the sacred Shroud of Turin. The story follows the clone, named Joshua of God, throughout his years on earth as he seeks to fulfill his Father's will, helping and healing those in need and thereby bringing about what appears to be the second coming of Christ. The concept of the book came to William in the 1970's when interest in the Shroud of Turin soared. He used the idea to teach young people that whether the Shroud is truly the burial cloth of Jesus or not, we are certain through our faith that Jesus lived, died, and resurrected to give us a path to salvation. The principal reason for cloning Joshua of God was to learn more about the humanity of Jesus. The story will challenge your worldview and cause you to consider questions of faith, humanity, and divinity and how they shape our beliefs today.
