JOHNNY NERO ESPIONAGE TREASURY collects three adventures of former MI5 agent Johnny
Nero. In the midst of a successful career as a British super-spy, Nero inherited a fortune and
opted to quit the spy game. After years of danger and intrigue it did not take very long for
ennui to set in. To break up the monotony of beaches, ski chalets and yachts Nero began to do
freelance work for his former employer in the spy trade, Colonel Jason. His exploits would pit
him against assassins, thugs, mobsters, terrorists, megalomaniacs and would-be world
conquerors.
Johnny Nero appeared in nine issues of the black & white adventure comic Fleetway Super
Library's Secret Agent Series. Each issue was a stand-alone graphic novel with painted covers by
Paolo Montecchi. Nero's escapades rival the exciting, harrowing and dangerous aspects of James
Bond, John Drake, Harry Palmer, Matt Helm and Napoleon Solo.
This collection is assembled from the best sources available. That stated, five pages of the second story
are in German. Since these pages are mostly an extended bare-knuckled car chase they do not detract
from the enjoyment of the story.
