Embriana and Pellandros are sent upon a quest by Zobi, a priestess of Hecate. The quest? Find a shattered magical sword and save the kingdom, of course! But it's not that simple. Along the way they discover not only the magic around them, but the magic between them as well. With the help of giantkin warriors, a rat with attitude, and a talking familiar, events turn into a wild ride fraught with dangerous magic, love, and laughter. Suddenly there was a sizzling sound and it melted away, leaving nothing but tattered clothing and a greasy-looking black puddle. "Impressive shooting, Lady Embriana. The only way to kill those things with a weapon is a strike through the eye." The giantkin offered her the arrows as he spoke. "I don't suppose this is the best time to admit I was aiming for its chest all three times," Embriana replied, her voice shaking.
