The author has played principal flute for more than twenty years in three professional orchestras and since 1997, he has been conducting professionally. During this time discrepancies of intonation were noticed in all orchestras, mainly in the woodwind sections. The author has gathered in one book all the necessary information regarding the intonation of woodwind instruments. After describing each instrument's history and pitch particularities, practical methods and advice to improve the intonation are offered.
