Inspirational Verses

For many reasons in earlier years, I rebelled. One result was becoming a mother at the age of 17. I watched my mom's struggles to support us, making the best of an extremely difficult situation. Reflecting on this time changed my expectations of loved ones. Expectations should be based on the facts of an individual's situation. One's perception of another's situation is often wrong. Attributable to facades rather than facts therefore it's unwise to compare. She wasn't perfect (neither am I) but with all my heart, I believe she did her best considering the resources available. Her constant display of unselfish devotion formed an eternal bond between us. I was blessed with the opportunity to care for her during the final years of her battle with a terminal illness. It is only now I can say blessed. Those were grueling years, letting go was heartbreaking. She passed away in 2002. The night after she passed, I poured my grieving heart into a poem, my first inspirational poem. I read it at her funeral, the response was unforgettable. For me it provided an inexplicable addicting release of honor, fulfillment, and joy. Since then I have been encouraging friends and loved ones with this God given gift of poetry. This little book of poems is my effort to share a portion of this gift with everyone. It is my prayer that anyone in need will encounter this book. It is a simple display of God given poems that originated from a candid desire to encourage friends and loved ones during their testing season. It is also based on personal needs of inspiration through past trials as well as trials to come. May this book be one of countless inspirational resources encountered throughout ones quest for completion of this journey called life.
