After making a few successful films as a "boy wonder" director, the leading character in this film, played by Richard Dreyfuss, has been reduced to making porno films to keep bread on his table. His difficulties are compounded by his raging paranoia and personal sexual difficulties. When his financial backer arrives on the scene with his dim-witted girlfriend in tow, things grow even more complicated.
