The acquisition of appropriate clinical skills is one of the pillars in health education. One of the skills nurses acquire during clinical instruction is a blood pressure measurement. Various methods of instruction have been used in the past. Blood Pressure measurement (BPM) skills can be imparted to students through demonstrations. One of the instructional strategies is the video teaching strategy. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a video strategy versus traditional strategy in the acquisition of skills for blood pressure measurement among nursing and midwifery students as compared to the traditional strategy of clinical instruction.A comparative research study with an intervention was used to show the effectiveness of the video teaching Strategy versus the traditional strategy in blood pressure measurement. The method of sampling was purposive sampling, where 123 first year students were selected from the population of first year students. An observation checklist for blood pressure measurement technique was used to obtain data from the two groups.
