WINNER of the 2017 National Indie Excellence Award! , would something be missing…mountains for climbing or oceans to swim?” This poem is the title theme where children learn that we wouldn’t have all the wonderful things in Creation and they are see how God has designed us so we can use our hands and feet to serve him and to serve each other. We would be missing the gift of Jesus and his salvation; and what about family and friends? They also find out, we would actually be missing them There’s so much more for children to discover in addition to all the gifts that God has given us. While each poem can bring lots of giggles, they are learning some of the concepts of the Christian faith, speaking to them at their level of understanding and entertaining them at the same time. Each of the ten poems has a theme. For example, "Ole Mr. Grudge" teaches forgiveness, "Hands" tells about helping others, "Just in Case" speaks of being afraid, "Is There Something We Can Do?" talks about prayer. Following every poem, there is a brief prayer and a short section entitled “What Does the Bible Say?” This is where they discover that what they have just learned through poetry is actually what God’s Word says about that very subject, using a biblical reference or short story that connects the theme. The overall design is bright and colorful, organized much like a scrapbook would be, and incorporates many illustrations created by children and placed into the design of the completed book. Some of the poems are interactive and it's great fun for adults to read to and connect with young children. It can also be enjoyed by older children who can read on their own. Here is a unique tool for teachers, parents and homeschoolers while they are engaging children in the learning process. There is also information provided inside the book to download without charge, a collection of lesson plans for each poem entitled, . This collection has suggestions for more in depth questions and also activities for hands-on learning.
