How It Haunts Us in Bloomington, MN

Haunted by the vengeful spirit of her mother, seventeen-year-old Rae accepts an invitation to Seaside State Hospital, an abandoned mental institution, with one goal-get rid of the ghost.
What she doesn't expect is Gracie, an amateur exorcist who hides her dark gift behind a façade of perfume and polish. Haunted by the consequences of a botched exorcism, Gracie comes to the hospital for a chance at redemption.
Seaside State is known for making things disappear. It's said to be hungry, and the girls hope what they have to offer will whet its appetite. But when they enter the asylum, the building shifts. Shadows fall in the wrong places, the hallways seem to breathe, and Rae finds writing on the walls that matches the penmanship of her late mother; long, thin, and damaging.
If they want to leave their pasts behind, the girls must contend not only with the dark forces of the hospital, but the darkness within themselves-and neither are about to let them go without a fight.
