Historical Sketch And Roster Of The South Carolina 26th Infantry Regiment

The new regiment was transferred out west where it participated in the siege of Jackson, MS, then to South Carolina for the Siege of Charleston. After the fall of Charleston, the 26th was transferred back to Virginia where it participated in the Petersburg Siege and the Appomattox Campaign. A Company - Captain Samuel Smart; Captain Henry L.
