Spanning six generations, this memoir chronicles Sandra "Cookie" Moschel's family's journey from Eastern Europe to the United States and the influence of their experiences on the life she has led. In writing her memoir she as traveled, through memories both her own and through stories she heard, from the small village of Bransk, Poland and the shetl of Vishnivchik, Galicia in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, to Ellis Island, Kewanee, Illinois and finally Chicago with her family. After marrying her college sweetheart Stanley Rosenbloom more than 62 years ago, they raised their family first in Lincolnwood, Illinois, then San Bernardino, California, and back to the Chicago area in Wilmette. After their children grew up and left home they moved to Northbrook, Illinois and finally, after Cookie retired from her late life career as a family law attorney in 2015, she and Stan moved to what had been their vacation home in Palm Desert, California. Cookie states that she has relived her life during the process of writing this memoir and hopes that it imparts to her children, her grandchildren, and her as yet unborn great grandchildren what a wonderful and rich journey her life has been.
