In 1705, the murder of a blood drinker sparks a hundred- and twenty-year war between the United Council of Blood Drinkers and rebels that disagree with their laws and murderous tactics. Three hundred years later, a corpse is discovered by a NYU anthropology professor. She is convinced that this is evidence to prove her lifelong obsession with the existence of vampires.
She is soon swept up into the world of blood drinkers, learning that this body is more than just any vampire and is tied to a potential uprising orchestrated by an ancient vampire with a penchant for revenge.
