With exhaustion taking a great toll on Jewel Seymour's youthful body, she crawled into bed. Jewel yawned, releasing most of the built-up tension from her body. As soon as her head hit the pillow however, Jewel's vivid dreams began to emerge. Before long, a land of beauty appeared in front of her. On a tropical island, a drawn-out beach with luminous white sand stretched out before her feet. While walking down this expansive coastline, Jewel could feel the humidity with the scent of the seawater borne on the evening breeze. Despite how warm the setting sun felt on her face, her thoughts of peace and harmony quickly vanished with the approaching young lady. Jewel recognized her as Elizabeth Nettle, but instead of being eager to see her, the girl simply alarmed Jewel further. Her smile quickly vanished, replaced by an uneasy feeling. Suddenly a thick fog eerily flowed off the ocean with a dense mist that gradually crept over her feet and within minutes it reached her knees. When the fog enveloped the entire lower half of her body, Jewel experienced a sense of fear she had not felt since childhood. The approaching girl was no more than sixteen. Once Elizabeth was about three feet away, the girl opened her mouth. A swarm of flies poured out, streaming upwards. Jewel instinctively raised her arms to avoid the teeming insects, shielding her face, an action she mimicked in her sleep. She awoke with a start. Gasping for air as though she were drowning-with her heart racing, beads of sweat pearling across her forehead-Jewel knew this was another premonition. She sat up in bed and instinctively turned on the light. Glancing at the clock, she sighed in exasperation. Two in the morning! She immediately turned off the lamp before settling back down. At thirty-one, Jewel thought her nightmares should be a thing of the past, but apparently, they were not. With new warning signs from the spirit world entering her psyche, Jewel was reminded that she possessed her own secret weapon of sorts-one that would undoubtedly save more lives.
