If Rickie Ciprian were simply a former Miami Beach police detective, he might feel better about himself. But Rickie is also a former Cuban-American, son, husband, Catholic, boyfriend, and marginally competent human being. He quits the police when he fails to capture a miscreant who scams because he can and kills because he likes to. Every night, Rickie lies awake, asking himself: "Where would a guy hide that really likes to hurt women? Not just hurt them a little, but a lot, and with impunity. Where would a guy like that go?"
