A memoir and history of a German family moving to a section of the XIT ranch that had been set aside for farming. A few hard-working families moved to this corner of Texas shortly before the dust bowl and depression devastated the area. It is a story of one family's survival and eventual success which was achieved by their ability to "stick together" and "stick it out" in the face of great challenges.
