Half-A-Day Creek Cabin

The year is 2021. It is a fall day in the Colorado Rockies, a time of frosty mornings, warm afternoons, and the odor of woodsmoke in the evenings. This morning, distant granite facades glow, and the rich colors of deciduous trees ignite under the radiance of a splendid sunrise. The crisp clean fall air is lightly scented with the odor of pine. The leaves on the aspen trees are a brilliant gold and the morning breeze makes the foliage shimmer and quake with a melodious whisper. The river before me cascades over a small earthen dam and produces a pleasant rushing sound. Overhead, geese fly in a characteristic "V' formation. They communicate to one another with incoherent honking, probably arguing about which bend in the river to turn towards for fruitful pastures, or whose turn it is to fly point. Nature has greeted me gloriously as I exit the car along the Tarryall River.
