In
God's Masterpiece
, author Sky Takemoto testifies that we are God's masterpiece because we are in Christ, and His divine life in us is growing daily unto the full measure of Christ (Eph. 4:13).
The heavens, the earth, and the spirit of humans are not God's masterpiece. Rather, we, the sinners who have been saved by grace through faith, are His masterpiece. Jesus Christ, who died and rose again, has overcome the world and entered into His believers as the Spirit. He has enlivened their deadened spirit and made them a new creation.
Christ imparted His life and nature into those who were dead in offenses and sins (Eph. 2:1). The old creation is old because there is no divine life, but the new creation, however, is new because Christ's divine life has been wrought into His believers.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are God's masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus. Our spirit was dead toward God, but we have been made alive with Christ, and we became the new creation. As the divine life grows within us, we overcome sin and Satan and live out Christ. This is God's infinite wisdom and divine plan for His masterpiece.
