The second album of radio transcriptions made by
the Casa Loma Orchestra
and released by Circle is, like the first, a bit of a disappointment. Of the dozen selections, only two (
"Git Away Day"
and "Jimtown Blues") are instrumentals and one has to sit through six of
Kenny Sargent's
"dreamy" ballad vocals plus three novelties featuring
Pee Wee Hunt
.
The Casa Loma Orchestra
was much more of a well-rounded outfit than is displayed on these performances, making this an album strictly for
Glen Gray
