Ten years after the Civil war, Gabriel Freeman, a former black slave, finds the life he has worked so hard to build about to be destroyed. A large family of hate-filled southerners moves into the Wyoming Territory close to where Gabriel and his family live. He must find a way to save his wife and eight-year old son from being burned alive in their home. Gabriel must also find a way to put out the fire of hate in his own heart. U.S. Marshal Rand Trinity surprises his wife with a vacation trip to see friends and family in the Wyoming Territory where they first met.
