Forged By Fire

"Too often is depression compared to drowning. I hate that metaphor. I prefer to think of it as fire." Annie has suffered from mental health issues her entire life. She, however, has never been one to let it defeat her. Since starting her journal in October of 2016, she sorts through chaotic thoughts, and memories to better understand the root of her illness. All the while, she faces an uneasy family dynamic, must finish college, and find the strength to separate from a damaging relationship. This is her first-hand account of what facing the fire is really like.
