For Luna proves a compelling debut novel with Abma clearly demonstrating a knack for creating vibrant and emotionally charged characters. With a labyrinthine plot and a likeable protagonist, it's a strong beginning to what promises to be an excellent series. A riveting tale that advances at a satisfying pace, suspense and tension always to the fore as Abma achieves a real sense of place and time. Few authors get it right first time, especially in such a highly applauded genre but Abma's passion and palpable enthusiasm invigorate his plot whilst a nod to noir crime reminds us of the true impact of crime on those around us.
