Six years into a failing acting career and feeling permanently out of place, Billie can feel the off-kilter sensation consuming her more and more. Lesbian and nearly alone except her best friend Reese and her cat, Billie drifts from community to community that should be accepting-and starts to realize none of them were made for women like her. Being in your twenties is already hard; but women in her acting circles look at her sideways, and the gay scene is pretty lonely since it's designed by and for men.
