ABSTRACT Background: Stress is increasingly recognized as one of the most serious occupational health hazard for critical care nurses. Failure of proper stress management among nurses has a huge impact to health care delivery and quality outcome, it also results in increased health care cost hence poverty and poor economy. Method: A cross sectional quantitative survey, with a sample size of 100 Nurses included, how ever only 65 returned the questioners'. Data analysed by SPSS version 16.0. Result:The study findings reveals numerous stressors associated with stress amongst critical care nurses; which includes working environment, workload, interpersonal relationships, and personal characteristics. Recommendation: Therefore strongly recommended that, new strategies measures should be implemented to relieve or prevent stress amongst nurses working in these units to improve quality outcomes.
